Postsecondary Child Care Grant Application:
If you will have child care expenses for the time you are enrolled in college, you may be eligible for the Postsecondary Child Care Grant. Awards will be based off of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) results for each year you apply. Please read all criteria and instructions attached to the application.
How the Postsecondary Child Care Grant applications are prioritized for awarding:
First – Previous year recipients and on the Waiting List by June 1st are given priority status.
Second – Those on the waiting list by June 1st (not previous year recipients).
Third – After June 1st, awards are made on a first-come first-served basis until funds are depleted.
Fourth – Once funds are depleted students are put on an awarding waiting list in a first-come first-served order in the case additional funding is received.
Submitting the application.
Once the student and provider sections of the application are both completed and signed, submit the application to:

You must have a child care provider selected in order to complete the application. Please note that once the application has been submitted, you MUST notify the financial aid office of ANY changes thereafter within 10 days. Such changes include, but are not limited to, the amount being paid for child care expenses, switching to a new child care provider or the child is no longer being taken to the child care provider. Failure to do so will result in loss of eligibility for the grant. Child care provider information is verified for each student. CLC Financial Aid Department awards the grant to the student. The student must use the child care grant to pay the child care provider.
2025-2026 application – to be used for Fall 2025, Spring and Summer of 2026. First, use 2023 tax return and income information to complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA, then, complete the Postsecondary Child Care Grant Application. Just click on this link: Minnesota Office of Higher Education Child Care Grant then on the down arrow to the right of “How to Apply” to get to the application.
The process will be to complete the student portion online, then print it out and bring it to the provider to complete the provider section. Once both sections are complete and signed by the student and provider, submit the application to the college using one of the methods above under Submitting the Application.
