Institutional Effectiveness
What is Institutional Effectiveness?
Institutional Effectiveness is an integrated, systematic, ongoing process of planning, assessment, program review, resource allocation, and accreditation to enable the college to pursue its mission, achieve its vision and goals, and continuously improve. Assessment at the institution builds its capacity to inform and evaluate change through data-driven decision making.
The process of Institutional Effectiveness at Central Lakes College is evidence of the institution’s commitment to continuous improvement guided by a vision for the future.

Institutional Effectiveness at Central Lakes College is the foundation on which CLC transforms its students’ lives and advances the community’s well-being.
Creation of the Institution
Minnesota Statutes Chapter 136F is the authorizing legislation for Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.
Minnesota Statutes Section 136F.10 specifically designates Brainerd and Staples as locations for Minnesota State institutions.
Minnesota State Board Policy 1A.11 identifies all Minnesota State colleges and universities and their locations. This policy was adopted by the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and has the force and effect of the law.

Central Lakes College programs for professions that require licensure or certification are intended to prepare the student for Minnesota licensure and certification requirements. Admission into programs for professions that require licensure and certification does not guarantee that students will obtain a license or certificate. Licensure and certification requirements are set by agencies that are not controlled by or affiliated with Central Lakes College and licensure and certification requirements can change at any time.
