Social Media Terms of Use
The purpose of Central Lakes College’s social media accounts is to provide information about the programs and services provided by the college, as well as promoting events, activities and more. All content and posts are bound by the Social Media’s (Facebook, Twitter etc.) Terms of Use, Employee/Student Code of Conduct and the Minnesota State Acceptable Use of Computers and Information Technology Resources
Limited Public Forum
Central Lakes College’s official social media accounts are limited public forums. CLC reserves the right to remove content or any post that violates college policies. Comments that are inappropriate or offensive are subject to removal without notice. All comments or questions that are off-topic will be deleted by CLC.
CLC does not allow content that:
1. Is known to be false, misleading or fraudulent
2. Is profane, obscene, sexually explicit, defamatory, libelous, threatening, abusive, harassing or, incites or promotes violence or illegal activity
3. Promotes, endorses or opposes campaign activities for elected office
4. Communicates personally identifiable information of any person, including but not limited to home address, home or cell phone number, or personal email address
5. Contains information that could reasonably compromise individual or public safety
6. Promotes, fosters, or perpetuates harassment or discrimination on the basis of any legally protected class of persons under federal and state laws
7. Solicits, promotes, or advertises a business or product, or proposes a commercial transaction
By participating on any of the college’s social media accounts, you are agreeing to abide by these community terms of use. CLC reserves the right to hide or remove posts that violate these community terms. These community terms of use are subject to amendment or modification at any time.
Comments posted to CLC’s social media pages do not represent the opinions of Central Lakes College. The views and opinions expressed by individual faculty, staff, and students do not necessarily reflect those of the college.
