Sausage Smoking & Curing students earn awards at competition
The Central Lakes College Sausage Smoking & Curing class earned four awards at a recent Minnesota Association of Meat Processors competition in St. Cloud. The class entered four items in the MAMPS product show competition-open class. Students received the following awards:
2nd in Snack Stick
2nd in Crushed Pepper Garlic Summer Sausage
3rd in Jalapeño Popper Snack Stick
3rd in Summer Sausage
“Our students entered four products into the competition and placed in all four categories,” said CLC Meat Cutting & Butchery instructor Jess Feierabend. “I couldn’t be more proud of them. This kind of consistency speaks volumes about the quality of our program, the hands-on experience our students receive, and the dedication they bring to their craft.”
