Verse Like Water Presents Layli Long Soldier and Sherwin Bitsui

Verse Like Water: The visiting poet program of Central Lakes College presents indigenous poets Layli Long Soldier and Sherwin Bitsui at 11 a.m. on Oct. 14 in the Chalberg Theatre, Brainerd campus. The community is invited to attend this free event. 

Soldier and Bitsui are rising stars on the American poetry scene. After they present their poetry at CLC, the pair will head to Onamia, where they will hold a reading for high school students from Isle, Mora, Onamia and Hinkley-Finlayson. This event is sponsored by the Minnesota State Arts Board, Minnesota Public Radio, Graywolf Press, and The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe.
