PAC announces Fall lineup of tribute concerts, musical theatre, holiday favorites

The Central Lakes College Performing Arts Center (CLCPAC) is pleased to announce its fall lineup, featuring live tribute concerts, two Brainerd Community Theatre productions, a cult film classic, and a slate of holiday programming for the whole family.

Three tribute acts bring the music of legendary artists to the Brainerd lakes area, performed by outstanding musicians from across the region. Each of these tribute shows will take place at the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts.

On Friday, October 16, the CLC Chalberg Theatre will present the Brainerd Community Theatre production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Stephen Sondheim’s acclaimed musical thriller. The production is directed by Travis Chaput, a frequent performer with Brainerd Community Theatre. The show runs October 16 to 18 and October 23 to 25, with an ASL interpreted performance on Saturday, October 17. The show is sponsored by the Blue Ox Barber Co.

On Friday, October 30, audiences are invited to return to the Chalberg Theatre for a screening of the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Come dressed as in character and get ready to quote your favorite lines as we do the Time Warp!

The holiday season begins on Tuesday, December 1 through Sunday, December 6 with the Brainerd Community Theatre production of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical at the CLC Chalberg Theatre. The Rock & Roll Xmas Spectacular returns to the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts on Saturday, December 12. For those looking for more traditional holiday tunes, on Monday, December 14, the CLC Chalberg Theatre presents the Rockin’ Classic Christmas Variety Show with Doug Allen Nash and Kathie Brekke, accompanied by The 42nd Street Jazz Band.

Single tickets are available now at www.clcperformingarts.com or through the box office at 218-855-8199. A $1 service fee applies to each ticket.

Community theatre season passes are available, and Cultural Arts Series packages are offered at multiple levels. Groups of 12 or more may qualify for discounted pricing by calling the box office. The CLCPAC also offers discounts for seniors, youth, veterans, and first responders. Accessible seating and ASL services are available upon request, with two weeks notice requested for ASL services.

The CLCPAC box office is located in the Chalberg Theatre lobby on the Brainerd campus of Central Lakes College, 501 West College Drive, and is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and one hour before each event. The Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts is located at 602 South 5th Street in Brainerd.
