History isn’t just about dates and events. It’s about understanding the stories of people, societies and ideas that shaped the world we live in today. Our History Transfer Pathway immerses students in a wide-ranging study of U.S. and world history, while developing critical thinking, research and communication skills. This program provides a strong foundation for transfer into a History bachelor’s degree at Minnesota State universities and prepares students for a variety of careers.
A degree in history opens doors to diverse career paths, from teaching, museums and historical preservation, consulting and publishing. Beyond specific careers, studying history equips students with the analytical and communication skills that are highly valued in virtually every professional field.
