CLC invites musicians to audition for bands, jazz ensembles 

Central Lakes College is inviting musicians of all ages and experience levels to audition for its bands and jazz ensembles for the upcoming performance season. 

Open to college students, community members, high school students, returning musicians and beginners, CLC’s music program offers a welcoming environment where performers can grow their skills, build friendships and share in the joy of making music. 

CLC offers nine performance ensembles, providing opportunities ranging from introductory experiences to advanced collegiate-level performance. Musicians with interests in concert band, jazz, choir, chamber music and contemporary performance can find an ensemble that matches their goals and experience. 

For advanced musicians seeking a high-level artistic experience, the Central Lakes Jazz Orchestra and Central Lakes Wind Symphony continue to attract talented performers from throughout the region. These premier ensembles bring together college students, community members and exceptional high school musicians to perform challenging and rewarding repertoire. The program is currently seeking musicians on all instruments and has a particular need for a concert pianist and bassoonist. 

Exceptional high school musicians are encouraged to audition and perform alongside college students and experienced community performers. Participation provides valuable experience, leadership opportunities and preparation for collegiate-level music making. 

All ensemble members will have the opportunity to participate in an international performance and cultural tour of England, Spain and Portugal from June 24 through July 4, 2027. Participating musicians may also bring a guest. The tour will offer opportunities to perform abroad while experiencing some of Europe’s most historic cultural destinations, music traditions and landmarks. 

Auditions are scheduled for: 

Friday, Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to noon 

Monday, Aug. 24 from 1:30 to 7 p.m.
