CLC names Mark Lindquist Athletic Director & Women’s Basketball Coach

Central Lakes College has named Mark Lindquist as its new Athletic Director and women’s basketball coach. Lindquist brings a long history with the college and deep experience in coaching and student development.

Lindquist has served as an assistant women’s basketball coach at CLC since 2022. He previously coached as a men’s basketball assistant from 2018 to 2020. His coaching journey began in 1987, when he worked basketball camps while serving as co-captain of his high school State Tournament team.

After graduating from Hamline University in 1992, Lindquist spent time as a freelance sportswriter in Duluth. He joined Central Lakes College as a faculty member in 2017 and later earned a master’s degree in Physical Education: Coaching of Sport from Southwest Minnesota State University in 2023.

Beyond the college, Lindquist has made a strong impact as an AAU girls’ basketball coach with Lakes Area Minn Starks. He led his 13U and 14U teams to back-to-back Minnesota AAU championship game appearances, capturing the state title in 2023.

“I appreciate the many opportunities Central Lakes College has offered me over the years,” said Lindquist. “In this new role, I look forward to supporting our student-athletes, coaches, and colleagues, and to continuing to build a culture of care that supports both academic and athletic success.”
