CLC receives industry equipment donation from Momentum Truck Group

Central Lakes College has received a $4,450 equipment donation from Momentum Truck Group to support hands-on learning in the college’s Diesel Equipment Technician program at the Staples campus.

Momentum Truck Group, a longtime leader in the region and a premier Freightliner and Western Star dealership in Central and North Central Minnesota, has served the community for more than 60 years. The company’s investment reflects a strong commitment to the future of the diesel industry and the students preparing to enter it.

The donation includes a cam timing tool, engine barring tool, crankshaft timing tool, Core DD15 or DD13 components, and a diesel scope standard oscilloscope kit—tools that mirror what students will use in today’s workforce.

“This kind of support makes a real difference for our students,” said Sheila Hoehn, Dean of the Staples Campus. “Our goal is to give students a learning experience that reflects a real workplace environment. Donations like this help us stay current with industry standards and better prepare our graduates for in-demand careers.”

Momentum Truck Group shared that the donation is intended to help the program continue delivering up-to-date, real-world training while strengthening the pipeline of skilled technicians.

Central Lakes College values its ongoing partnership with Momentum Truck Group and industry partners alike. These collaborations ensure students graduate with the skills, confidence, and experience needed to succeed in the workforce, and help meet the growing demand for skilled technicians across the region.
