Foundation announces new scholarship established by the Brainerd Lakes Area Women of Today

The Central Lakes College Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of a new scholarship made possible through the generosity of the Brainerd Lakes Area Women of Today. This newly established scholarship will provide financial support to a non-traditional CLC student who is either a female or a single parent.

“We are deeply grateful to the Brainerd Lakes Area Women of Today providing this opportunity for our students,” said Jon Aga, Central Lakes College’s Associate Vice President of Advancement. “Their support not only makes our students’ educational journeys more affordable, but also demonstrates their commitment to supporting our next generation of community leaders.”

Representatives from the Brainerd Lakes Area Women of Today expressed their enthusiasm about the new scholarship. Gerrin Dehn, Membership Vice President, states “without having met the great gals in this organization my eyes would never had been opened to the amazing things we have in our community and do with our fellow members. Being able to help someone go to college to further their career is an amazing opportunity and I look forward to our organization helping more in the future!”

She added, “The Brainerd Lakes Area Women of Today believe in growth, service and fellowship. We believe the potential of our organization is limitless in our communities, state and ourselves. We love to volunteer and help fellow organizations with their missions as well.”

This year’s scholarship has been awarded to Jaimie Johnson of Brainerd, who is pursuing her Pre-Social Work Transfer Pathway A.S. Degree.
