Cultural Thursday is Central Lakes College’s monthly cultural literacy series, where we welcome speakers from around the world to share perspectives that deepen our understanding of diverse peoples, places, and ideas.

This month we feature Julie Jo Larson—author, storycatcher, and licensed social worker—who has spent the past decade traveling across Minnesota and capturing its stories. Guided by conversations with locals, her work uncovers the hidden gems and voices of our state. Julie will also share her reflections on the value of travel and the importance of connecting with our neighbors both near and far.

Upcoming Cultural Thursday events will be held on the first Thursday of October and November 2025, as well as February, March, and April 2026.
