Dr. Athena is a Minnesota poet, as well as the director of the Honors Program at the University of Minnesota Morris. With funding from the Minnesota State Arts Board, she spent many hours researching and reading about women whose lives were lived on the Minnesota prairie. Then she dreamed a book called Prairie Midden, which is a series of imaginings about these women from the past, present, and future. It really is a superb book. One week from today on March 27th, I am hosting about a 40 minute reading/presentation for Athena in the Chalberg Theater at noon. Please consider attending, since poetry will never let you down! As always, at Central Lakes College in beautiful Brainerd.
