College is a great time to explore your career options!  It’s okay if you don’t know EXACTLY what you want to do for your career.  Take some time to learn more about yourself then learn about the different career options out there to help you make a career plan.  The links and resources below can guide you in your exploration:

CareerOneStop – A U.S. Department of Labor website for exploring careers, industries, and more!

Minnesota Career Information System, or MCIS – A private portal filled with assessments, career information, salaries, job outlooks, educational requirements, and a host of other tools.  Please contact the Career & Transfer Center for login information:  careerservices@clcmn.edu .

O*NET Interest Profiler – Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, the O*NET Interest Profiler can help you find out what your interests are and how they relate to the world of work.  Find out what you like to do!

Strong Interest Inventory – Assesses your interests and match careers to those interests!  There may be a nominal fee for this assessment.  Please contact the Career & Transfer Center for more information:  careerservices@clcmn.edu .

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, or MBTI – Assesses your personality preferences and understand how occupations and work environments match your preferences!  There may be a nominal fee for this assessment.  Please contact the Career & Transfer Center for more information:  careerservices@clcmn.edu .

CCST 1520: Career Planning – This two-credit course provides a comprehensive approach to career planning, educational planning, and decision making. The course begins with a self-exploration process in which students examine their values, personality characteristics, interests, strengths, skills, and goal setting. Current trends, occupational information, job seeking skills, and other resources will be explored to evaluate career options and educational goals. Plan Your Education

You’re in college but want to make sure you take the right classes that lead you to your educational goals.  The following links and resources can guide you in your planning:

CLC Academic Advisors – Visit with a CLC Academic Advisor about your educational goals and academic programs and classes to reach your goals.

Minnesota State Transfer Information – Your connection to resources about transfer options within the Minnesota State College and University System.

Transferology – A nation-wide network designed to help students answer the question “Will my courses transfer?”  This will help you plan and maximize your time at CLC no matter where you want to transfer.

CCST 2520: Career Internship Experience – This is a one-credit internship course explores careers and training in a supervised work setting. You will examine and reflect on your internship experience by using feedback from others as well as your own self-analysis.
