The Central Lakes College men’s and women’s basketball teams lost at Northland (Thief River Falls) on Wed., Feb. 10. The Raider men dropped a 95-73 game against the hot-shooting hosts, who outscored CLC in the second half, 56-39. Northland made 62 percent of its shots and went to the free throw line 25 times vs. 8 for the visiting, 7th-ranked Raiders. Leading scorers for CLC: Nick Grewe (pictured) 19, Marcus Ayala 16, Erik Peeters 12. The CLC women dropped their game, 70-55, as the Pioneers outscored the Raiders in the last half, 40-25. Northland used its trio of outstanding scoring leaders for 58 points. CLC scoring leaders: Cassie Pearson 23, Trisha Wippler 11. The teams next travel to Rainy River (International Falls) Sat., Feb. 13. The CLC men are 19-5 on the year, 9-2 in the Division. The CLC women are 5-17 overall, 4-7 in the Division.
