CLC Community Band to hold fall concert

Community members and students are invited to the Central Lakes College Community Band Fall Concert.

The concert will feature the Community Band and the Jazz Band under the direction of Steve Anderson. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 15 in the Chalberg Theatre, CLC’s Brainerd campus. Admission is $5 for the public, and CLC students and children 12 and under admitted free of charge. There is no reserved seating.

Come listen to old favorites by Leonard Bernstein and Percy Grainger combine with current favorites, such as the music from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There will be themes from Ireland to preview CLC’s upcoming 2017 Ireland Band Tour.

The CLC Community Band consists of students and community musicians from the surrounding area. Membership is open to high school juniors and seniors, as well as college students and adults with a high school level of facility on their instrument.

Other activities of the CLC Instrumental Music Department include: The CLC Brass Ensemble performing at the Nisswa “Lighting of the Lights” on Friday, Nov. 25 at 4:30 p.m. and the annual “Merry Tuba Christmas” at 1 p.m. in front of Herberger’s in the Westgate Mall on Saturday, Dec. 10.
