Central Lakes College will hold its annual Agriculture and Energy Field Day from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21 at the Ag and Energy Center in Staples.
Everyone is welcome to attend the day of fun, educational events. There is something for all ages.
“The Ag and Energy Center has been a catalyst in applied research for over 47 years. This year proves to be an exciting one with over 40 research and demonstration projects active at the Center,” said Keith Olander, CLC’s Dean of Agricultural Studies.

9-10 a.m. Quadcopter (Drone) demonstration
9 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. Living Legacy Garden walk
9 a.m.-noon Corn and soybean tour
9- 11:30 a.m. & 1-2:30 p.m. Machinery and tractor demonstration ride and drive for all ages
9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Nitrate water testing
9:30-11:30 a.m. Local foods tour
9:30-10:30 a.m. Edible beans tour
9:30-11:30 a.m. Byron site tour
11 a.m. Sunflower research tour
11 a.m. Oil press demonstration (Biofuels)
11 a.m. MDA research presentation
11 a.m. John Deere Field Connect demonstration
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Lunch
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Fruit wine tasting
12:15-1:15 p.m. Lunch program. Speakers: Agriculture commissioner Dave Frederickson and Rep. Collin Peterson

1-2 p.m. Alternative Fruits for Cold Climates lecture (Advanced registration required and a $5 fee.)
2-3:30 p.m. Apples in Northern Minnesota lecture (Advanced registration required and a $5 fee.)
