Community invited to Ag & Energy Field Day

The community is invited to the Central Lakes College Ag & Energy Research Center’s annual Field Day from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Friday, August 30 at the Ag & Energy Center, 26505 County Road 2, Staples. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. 

This event is a great opportunity to experience a variety of agricultural demonstrations, meet with industry professionals, and learn about the latest innovations in the field.  

 Event highlights: 

  • Morning tours (9 – 11:45 a.m.): Choose from sessions focusing on topics like Precision Irrigation, Edible Beans Research, Local Foods, Drone Spraying Applications and more. 
  • Afternoon events (12 – 3 p.m.): Enjoy a free lunch, explore the Living Legacy Gardens, and indulge in the ice cream social while experiencing the traditional Scandinavian violin music performed by Skal Klubben. 

 There will also be exciting demonstrations, including drone flights, tractor ride and drives, and grazing tips from the NRCS Grazing Trailer. This is a day filled with hands-on learning and networking opportunities.
