Verse Like Water: The visiting poet program of Central Lakes College, presents Syrian storyteller and essayist Osama Alomar at noon on Wednesday, March 21 in the Chalberg Theatre, Brainerd campus. The event is free and open to the public.
One of the most important writers of his home country, Osama strives to preserve “al-qisa al-qasira jiddan,” which in Arabic means a very short story. Come to encounter his delightful mingling of poetry, fables and political allegory.
After the poetry reading, Alomar will sign his books, “Full Blooded Arabian” and “Teeth of the Comb”. Following, he will offer a craft talk on creativity and the imagination
at 1:30 p.m.
