Community members are invited to take part in the 3rd Annual Linda Dryden Vocal Music miniFest. It takes place Wednesday, March 7 in the CLC gymnasium, Brainerd campus.
The day begins with a Vocal Master Class from 10 a.m. to noon, involving 200 area high school students joining CLC vocal music students, members of The Legacy Chorale of Greater Minnesota and community members. The five area high schools participating in the festival are Aitkin, Brainerd, Pequot Lakes, Pine River-Backus and Little Falls.
Next, a mass choir rehearsal will run from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. CLC Choir Director Sarah Aamot will lead the group in rehearsing and performing two classic works from the choral repertoire: “For the Beauty of the Earth” by John Rutter, and Houston Bright’s “I Hear a Voice a-Prayin’.” Sheet music will be provided. The Linda Dryden Vocal Music miniFest is free and open to the public.
About Linda Dryden
The Linda Dryden Endowment was established through the CLC Foundation by Bob Dryden, a retired CLC Theatre instructor, after his wife, Linda, passed away in 2003 from breast cancer. Linda was an accomplished singer, performer and well-known local businesswoman.
The Linda Dryden Endowment is designed to bring top-quality guest musicians to Central Lakes College to share their expertise, knowledge and training with CLC music students and the community at large. The Legacy Chorale of Greater Minnesota, of which Bob Dryden and his second wife, Sheri, are members, will also be participating in the Dryden miniFest.
