CLC hosting two summer camps

Spaces are filling up quickly for two summer camps held at Central Lakes College. Each camp is first come, first served, so enroll today!

Nitro X Camp

It will be held from June 13-17 at Central Lakes College’s Brainerd campus. It runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day and is open to students entering grades 5th-8th. Cost is $125.

About the camp:

Campers will work with a remote control car while learning about other forms of transportation, design (paint) the body of the car, gain exposure to the transportation industry through three tours at various local businesses, working in teams to develop team building. Students will compete in time trials.

 

SEaM Camp

It will be held from July 11-15 at Central Lakes College’s Staples campus. A bus will transport kids from Brainerd to Staples each day. The camp is open to students entering grades 6th-12th and it runs from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. (The bus leaves Brainerd at 8). Cost is $200.

About the camp:

Campers will build a bot with a team member during the week. They will have the opportunity to experience hands-on electronics, motor, computer aided drafting, manufacturing machining and robotics automated systems.

Students will compete in obstacle course, bot hockey/soccer, and a demolition derby on the final day of the camp.
