The English Department ispleased to announce the fifth annual Central Lakes College Writing Awards. Awards will be made in three categories: Essay (personal and technical/research essays will be eligible); Fiction/Drama; Poetry. First, second, and third
place awards will be made in each category, with funding for the prizes contributed
by the CLC English Department. Award
amounts: First place, $100; Second place, $75; Third place, $50. Students may submit in all
three categories—up to ten pages in each category. Entries must be typed (prose entries,
double-spaced; poetry, single-spaced). The author’s name should not appear on the work but on a cover sheet
that will be removed prior to judging (a separate cover sheet should be
prepared for each category entered). The
cover sheet is available from any English Department faculty member. Entries should be submitted to Leane Flynn, Office
# E453, by Friday, March 30.
