The Hunt Family from Virginia performed original, Celtic, bluegrass, inspirational and popular music at the Central Lakes College Foundation fundraiser Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10 and 11 at Grand View Lodge, Nisswa. Pictured is Arnold S. Johnson of the Foundation Board and a major sponsor for this event, as he enjoyed the show. Lisa Paulbeck of Aitkin and Heidi Wille of Motley spoke of how scholarships have helped them with their college education. A silent auction included numerous donations from friends of the Foundation, and successful bidders went home with some outstanding prizes. There was also a raffle drawing component to the event, with tickets sold by members of the CLC Student Senate and the CLC International Club. The students also helped at the product table, where recordings of the Hunt Family were available for purchase. Brian Kirkpatrick, vice president of the Foundation Board, served as emcee. The event’s proceeds go, in part, to the Random Acts of Kindness Fund that provides emergency assistance to CLC students. Last year the Foundation made 126 awards worth $31,500 in Random Acts of Kindness.
