Two CLC students, instructor attend Wefald Hall dedication in Kansas

Two Central Lakes College students and an instructor attended the dedication of Wefald Hall at Kansas State University on April 1.

The students were Raiders football players Trevor Lyon and Brendon Loch and the instructor was Steve Wenzel, from the Political Science Department.

Wefald Hall, an all-purpose $83 million project, is considered a transformational college facility named in honor of retired visionary president Dr. Jon Wefald. Wefald is a friend of CLC, its athletic program, and was CLC’s commencement speaker in 2012.

At the dedication of Wefald Hall, there were three nationally renowned speakers: U.S. Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas; Bill Snyder, coach of the Kansas State University Wildcats football team and America’s Football Hall of Fame 2011 inductee; and Dale Brown, long-time coach of the Louisiana State University basketball team and America’s Basketball Hall of Fame 2015 inductee.

Snyder also gave special permission to CLC’s Lyon and Loch to tour KSU’s 55,000-seat new football stadium.
