Aga joins CLC as Associate Vice President of Advancement

Central Lakes College is pleased to welcome Jon Aga as its Associate Vice President of Advancement. Aga joins the college with more than a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, as well as a leadership background in philanthropy and social services.

“It’s an honor to join the team at Central Lakes College and to help efforts of building brighter futures for our students,” Aga said. “I truly look forward to assisting those who want to leave a legacy through giving gifts via our scholarship fund. It’s a privilege to help people make an impact, not only today, but for years to come.”
Before joining CLC, Aga led the Lakes Area United Way in Brainerd as Executive Director from 2021 to 2024, rallying the support of individuals, civic groups, and businesses around Lakes Area nonprofit programs and initiatives that supported health, education, and basic needs. During his tenure, the Lakes Area United Way expanded its service area to include Aitkin County and added new impact initiatives such as Born Learning Trails and expanding the local Stuff-a-Bus supply drive with Hubbard Radio. Prior to Lakes Area United Way, Aga served as Associate Director of Mental Health Services at Tasks Unlimited in Minneapolis, where he developed and led a number of mental health, housing, and homeless outreach programs throughout the Twin Cities metro area.

Aga was born and raised in Nisswa and graduated from Brainerd. He has his Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, his Bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College and has held licensure as both a licensed school counselor and licensed professional clinical counselor.
