Natural Resources student receives scholarship

20160522_183342 cCentral Lakes College Natural Resources student Gary Patton was awarded a $500 scholarship from the Morrison County Chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association.

Patton’s essay on deer wintering areas was “very exceptionally well done,” said Art Reuck, president of the Morrison County Chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association.

“He did a great job on the article and is a fine gentleman,” Reuck said.

The scholarship’s purpose is to encourage future wildlife managers, biologists, forestry staff, and others involved in outdoor sciences to have the knowledge and interest to manage lands for reasonable numbers of whitetail deer. Also, to share that knowledge with other people and hunters.

The scholarship will cover school expenses.
