Crank up the Jukebox! Country Artist Kevin Mac at CLC Feb. 19

Kevin MaC3Country music artist Kevin Mac will bring his ‘Classic Country Jukebox’ show to the Chalberg Theatre stage on Friday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. The show is part of the Cultural Arts Series presented by the Central Lakes Community Performing Arts Center.

“I was told that before a single note leaves his lips or one chord is strummed from his acoustic guitar, Kevin Mac convinces you to love him,” says Series Producer Patrick Spradlin. “ I watched several promotional videos of Kevin, and it was true. In addition to being an incredibly talented musician, Kevin is a consummate entertainer.”

Born in King George County, Virginia, Mac was bored on country/bluegrass music and raised in the church. Despite his young age, he has years of experience under his belt. Kevin has opened for industry heavy hitters Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Phil Vassar, Darryl Worley, Trace Adkins, Colt Ford, LeAnn Rimes, Kip Moore, The Band Perry, Missy Elliott, Blacksreet, T. Mills, Timbaland, J. Cole and Ashanti. He re-recorded a “Southern Swag” version of the 1990s hit “No Diggity” with mega producer Teddy Riley, and he has written and collaborated with some of the most accomplished songwriters in the business, including hitmakers for Rascal Flatts, Diamond Rio, Beyonce and Britney Spears. In 2014 Kevin signed his first major record publishing deal with mega producer Dr. Luke’s Prescription songs based out of Los Angeles, California.

Although Kevin tours with some of today’s hottest country music artists, he still loves to honor the legends who came before him and paved the way for the artists of today. In “Classic Country Jukebox” he does just that, performing hits by iconic artists Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Sr., George Jones, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton and so many more. “This is a show for the true country music lover,” says Spradlin. “We are committed to bringing a variety of musical talents and styles to the community. Kevin will be a terrific addition to our season.”

Kevin has garnered praise wherever he’s performed. “Kevin Mac transfixed the audience with an exhilarating musical talent mixed with a ‘down-home feeling’, captivating both the young and old alike,” critics wrote after a concert at the University of Arkansas. “This is a kid that’s got it. You can feel it when he walks into the room,” was the conclusion reached by 97.3 The Eagle radio station, Virginia Beach, VA. Kevin always puts on an amazing show.  From the moment he takes the stage he has the crowd in the palm of his hand,” said the Celebrate Virginia Live Festival organizers.

Tickets for Kevin Mac’s Classic Country Jukebox show can be purchased through the CLC Theatre Box Office at (218) 855-8199 or online at www.clcmn.edu/arts

The show is sponsored by the Graphic Design Program of Central Lakes College. The CLCPAC season is made possible, in part, by an Operating Support Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
