The Central Lakes College Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology program has earned accreditation from the AED Foundation: An Affiliate of the Associated Equipment Distributors. “This is a significant achievement for the program and instructors,” remarked Christopher Hadfield, Dean of Career and Technical Education at CLC.
AED Accredited post-secondary colleges have met the rigorous requirements of AED’s national standards for equipment technology programs. These Standards for Construction Equipment Technology have been developed and are updated by The AED Foundation’s Technical Training Committee with broad representation from industry distributors, technical schools, and manufacturers. The standards have truly been developed “by industry, for the industry” to meet specific industry needs.
Today’s equipment service technicians require advanced skills and knowledge to service and repair construction equipment that is increasingly sophisticated and complex. In meeting AED national technical standards, AED Accredited colleges “set the industry standard” for equipment technology excellence.
