CLC Half-Mile

The CLC Half-Mile officially opens on Friday, March 30 with a 3 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Information Center on the Brainerd campus. The course offers a choice of Easy and Intense, as marked by signage suspended from ceiling areas to clearly note the preferred path for walkers of all ages — students, staff, and community alike. This is a CLC Health Committee project spearheaded by Nursing student Steve Sabin, president of the Brainerd campus student senate. It is loosely based on the Mall of America’s Mayo Clinic Mile. Steve says the real drive to install the route is to help reduce the obesity rate of this area, which is one of the worst in the state.
