CLC’s 2020 youth summer camps

Girls Empowerment Institute

August 12 from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

Location: Brainerd campus

Cost: $40

This Institute will empower, excite and provide permission for girls to be their best and lead, both off and on the court/field/pool/mat. Girls will work on skills, as well as participate in hands-on sessions designed to cast away self-doubt and negative messages about what defines being a girl and what it means to be a queen! It is a full day of sessions, snacks, lunch, fun, and powerful messages from some great female role models. Open to girls entering 4th-10th grade. Register at clcraiderscamps.com by July 31.

 

Scrubs Camp  cancelled for 2020

June 17-18 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Location: Brainerd campus

Cost: $40

Students will spend two days exploring a variety of healthcare careers including nursing, medical assistant, radiology technician and many others. Career fields will be experienced through field trips and hands-on activities facilitated by healthcare professionals and college faculty. Open to students entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade. Nitro-X Camp cancelled for 2020

July 13-17 from 9 am-3 pm

Location: Brainerd campus

Cost: $150

The Nitro-X camp is a week long day camp where students work in teams to build and modify a 4×4 remote controlled (RC) vehicle. Students learn about electronics, engines, suspension, paint, and diagnostics. Student will enjoy field trips to industry partners and explore careers like auto mechanics, heavy equipment operations and maintenance, diesel technicians, and marine and power sports. The camp finishes with a 4×4 RC race competition. This camp is sponsored by CLC and the Minnesota Transportation Center of Excellence. Open to students entering grades 6th, 7th and 8th. SEaM Camp (Science, Engineering & Manufacturing)

July 6-10 from 9 am-3 pm

Location: Staples campus (Busing is available from Brainerd)

Cost $200

SEaM camp provides hands-on experiences with electronics, motor controllers, mechanical drafting, manufacturing machining, and robotic automated systems. Students build robots and test their skills in a robot obstacle course and demolition contest. Open to students entering grades 6 – 12. Volleyball Advanced Skills Clinic

June 2-4 from 9-11 am

Location: Brainerd campus

Cost: $40

This clinic is a small group specific instruction/practice for experienced players only. The first day will cover Pass and Serve – the importance of first contact. The second covers Attack and Block – approaching efficiently and defending the net. The final day will cover setting – delivering a quality set, thinking the game and being a leader. Volleyball Skills Camp

June 8-10 from 9 am-12 pm

Location: Brainerd campus

Cost: $85

Skills specific to serving, passing, hitting and setting will be broken down in detail. All skills will be covered with each athlete. Players will be divided into groups to accommodate different skill levels. Register at clcraiderscamps.com Open to students entering 6th-9th grade.

 

Volleyball Elite Camp

June 8-10 from 1 pm-4 pm Location: Brainerd campus Cost: $95 Designed for the high school player with varsity or j.v. potential. Players will receive more advanced training specific to their position. Game strategies – offense, defense, transition, serving aggressively and receiving with some control will be emphasized. Players will be divided into groups to accommodate different skill levels. Register at clcraiderscamps.com
