CLC’s Student Senate awarded grant to expand community children’s events

Central Lakes College’s Student Senate was awarded a $500 grant from First International Bank to expand the many community children’s events held on both campuses each year.

The Live First Community Grant funds were awarded to CLC’s Student Senate after a weeks-long online community voting process. The Student Senate groups have sponsored events like an Easter egg hunt, holiday parties and fall festivals.

“Our student leaders are excited about the opportunity to expand our community events that are focused on local kids,” said CLC Student Life director Erich Heppner. “We are thankful for generous organizations such as First International Bank that invest in the communities that they serve. The CLC Student Senate has a long and proud tradition of putting the ‘community’ in community college.”
