CLC presents two musical events open to the public

Central Lakes College presents two shows:

The first:

The Central Lakes College Music Department and Chamber Singers present “A Celtic Collage,” featuring popular tunes from Ireland, Wales and Celtic Woman at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 4 in the Chalberg Theatre. Director is CLC’s Sarah Aamot.

Admission is $5 for adults and free for CLC students and children under 18.

 

The second:

The Central Lakes Community College Community Band, under the direction of Steve Anderson, presents “To Ireland with Love!” It’s American music, which will be performed in four concerts in Ireland this summer, along with some traditional Irish folk music. The CLC Jazz Ensemble will feature the music of Chuck Mangione, Dave Frischberg and the Blues Brothers.

The show will be at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 in the Chalberg Theatre. The house opens at 7:00 p.m. There is no reserved seating. Admission is $5 for adults and free for CLC students and children under 12.

 

The Community Band consists of 55 members from Brainerd, Pequot Lakes, Pine River, Pillager, Crosby, Aitkin, Staples, Wadena and Long Prairie. The band meets on Monday evenings in the fall and spring from 7-9 p.m. with a brass group and woodwind group meeting in the winter months. Ages 18 and above. The Jazz Ensemble meets from 4 – 5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the school year.
