The Raiders Women’s Basketball team improved to 6-10 on season after defeating conference foe Hibbing Community College 66-50.
Four of CLC’s players scored in double figures Saturday night including a game high 23 point performance by Cheyanne Johnson on 6 of 13 shooting. The conference win was the Raiders 3rd on the season and their second win in a row after defeating Rainy River 72-71 the night before. It was a pivotal game for the Raiders to build some confidence for the remainder of conference play.
Johnson wasn’t the only Raider to have success Saturday afternoon. Kaitlin Spar added 13 points, four rebounds, four steals and four assists. A complete game for the sophomore trying so hard to lead her team in the winning direction. Aleia Lupa added 13 points and four rebounds, as Tanisha Beetso added ten points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
The Raiders will look to continue to ride their two-game winning streak against a red-hot, 15-3 Northland team coming into Brainerd. Get out support your Raiders Women’s Basketball team. Tip off starts at 5:45 p.m.
