CLC welcomes new interim Vice President

Central Lakes College announces the appointment of Mark Johnson as Interim Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mark to CLC,” said Dr. Hara Charlier, President of Central Lakes College. “He brings a wealth of higher education knowledge and a true passion for helping students. He has hit the ground running and is already hard at work advancing our mission of helping students build their futures.”

Johnson temporarily replaces Joy Bodin, who is serving as Interim President at Hennepin Technical College.

He previously served as the Academic Dean at HTC, as well as the Dean of Business and Technology at San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas. He holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, and a Master of Arts (M.A.) from Winona State University. He is currently completing his Educational Doctorate (Ed.D.) at Winona State University.

“I’m impressed with CLC’s Culture of Caring and its focus on creating a campus where every student can be successful,” Johnson said. “It’s exciting to be part of a college that is so student-centered.  I love that CLC has everything a student could want: Career and technical programs, transfer pathways, a vibrant fine arts community, athletics, student leadership opportunities, and so much more.  Also, CLC has such a positive impact on the community and the economy here, and I can’t wait to be part of that.”
