During an economic crisis and ongoing US sanctions, local community member Larry Fisk visited Venezuela for three weeks this past May 2018.
For a portion of his stay, as part of an international group, he met with human rights organizations, lawyers from the Attorney General’s office, a governor, a mayor and community activists working on neighborhood projects and a government food-distribution program.
The international group was fortunate to be addressed by the country’s Foreign Minister and a constitutional expert. During his visit, Larry stayed in an opposition neighborhood, spent time with Venezuelan friends, explored Caracas, visited medical facilities and met with intellectuals and authors to discuss the past, present and future of Venezuela.
