The Central Lakes Community Performing Arts Center at CLC was voted ‘Best of the Brainerd Lakes’ in two categories, as announced by the Brainerd Dispatch.
The Center was voted #1 for both ‘Best Performing Arts’ and for ‘Best Live Entertainment Spot.’
There were 8 nominees for the performing arts category, and 15 for live entertainment venues. Voting was done via the Dispatch website over a period of several weeks, with over 138,000 total votes cast for all the ‘Best Of’ categories identified by the newspaper.
Patrick Spradlin, the Center’s director, said of the awards: “We are both greatly surprised and extremely gratified at being recognized for these citations. We thank our loyal patrons who support our work, all of those who voted for us, and the many volunteers who give of their time. Brainerd Community Theatre thrives because of these generous actors and technicians, and the Cultural Arts Series could not be as successful without our volunteer ushers and helpers. We also thank the administration of Central Lakes College, particularly President Hara Charlier, for their incredible support.”
The Dispatch will formally announce the winners of all categories of balloting at some point in the near future.
