Auditions will be held for the Brainerd Community Theatre production of ‘Five Women Wearing the Same Dress’ on December 5th and 6th at 6 pm at the Dryden Theatre on the Brainerd Campus of Central Lakes College. Alan Ball’s sharp comedy will be performed at 7:30 pm on February 22-24 and March 1-2, with a 2 pm matinee on March 3, 2018. Rehearsals will begin in December and continue through the months of January and February. Auditions are open to anyone, regardless of prior acting experience. In the play, five bridesmaids gather in an upstairs bedroom and realize they all despise the bride, and have a number of fascinating problems of their own.
The play’s characters are:
THE BRIDESMAIDS: Frances–20s, naïve, unsophisticated; Meredith–about the same age, the bride’s sister, tough, angry, resentful; Trisha–thirtyish, glamorous, sophisticated, has been around more than she likes; Georgeanne–thirtyish, fraught, married, kind of a nervous wreck; Mindy–the groom’s sister, older than the others, blunt, charmingly outspoken, and a lesbian;
THE GUY: Tripp, 30ish, a groomsman, preppy and a catch.
If you can’t make the rehearsal dates, please call or e-mail director Michael Sander (218-587-4728; sandwood@uslink.net) to see if other arrangements can be made.
