CLC students earn top awards in Twin City Auto Show contest

jeremy car02Central Lakes College students took home the top three awards at the Twin City Auto Show’s car wrap contest held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on March 15.

The contest: Design a patriotic themed car wrap. CLC student Jeremy Goddard, Verndale, won first place (Toshiba 43” LED HDTV TV prize). Student Aleisha Johnson, Little Falls, won second ($150 prize) and Kira Moses, Crosby, won third ($100 prize).

“I am extremely proud of how the students came through this design challenge. They worked under extreme stress of several ongoing projects, meeting the strict deadline to submit their entries for this competition,” said Leon Dahlvang, CLC graphic design instructor. “Congratulations to Jeremy, Aleisha and Kira for winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. My students brought a variety of ideas together to communicate this event’s message using the tools and techniques learned through the Graphic Design two-year program.”

Goddard’s winning car wrap concept design was created at CLC, while the production was done on the car at Automotive Performance Studio out of Hopkins.
