The Central Lakes College volleyball team has swept the season series against Hibbing. The Raiders swept the Cardinals Wed., Oct. 5 in Brainerd, 25-18, 25-11, and 25-21. Freshman Abbi Knutson (left) stroked 9 kills, 17 set assists and 4 digs in the win, the sixth in 8 Northern Division matches for the second-place Raiders. Northland is unbeaten in 8. Reserve Betsy Helmeke produced 7 digs in the later part of the match, and freshmen Crysta Christensen and Hayley Hornick each had 6. The Raiders lost to the University of Minnesota-Morris junior varsity, 14-25, 22-25, and 16-25 in the nightcap. Abbi had another 17-set assist match. Hayley and Crysta each had 7 digs. Jazmin Massie tallied 6 kills, Carlie Sweet 5, and Alice Widmark 4. All are freshmen. The Raiders next host Vermilion Friday night (6:30), Mesabi Range Saturday (noon), and Northland Wed., Oct. 12.
