Medical Practice Management

Your career in healthcare starts here — without scrubs

The Medical Practice Management Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree prepares students for entry-level administrative and leadership support roles in healthcare organizations. Building on the Medical Coding and Billing Diploma, the program expands students’ knowledge of healthcare operations while developing skills in accounting, marketing, communications and project management. Students learn how medical offices and healthcare systems function behind the scenes, gaining the tools needed to help organizations run efficiently and effectively.

Coursework emphasizes leadership, compliance, and the use of healthcare technology while strengthening the coordination of financial and clinical workflows. Students develop skills in budgeting, revenue cycle management, healthcare information systems, and professional communication, along with an understanding of important regulations such as HIPAA and other healthcare compliance standards.

The program also provides a pathway for continued education through transfer to the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Leadership at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
