Aitkin County is accepting applications for a full-time Financial Assistant to perform accounting work involving the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports. Responsible for county accounting functions, coordination of elections, and the work of subordinate employees under the direction of the County Auditor..
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, plus three (3) or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a strong accounting background. Experience in financial statement preparation preferred. Prior supervisory experience is required.
Valid Minnesota driver’s license required. Employment reference checks and a criminal background check will be performed as part of the pre-employment process.
Following hire, required to obtain: County Election Administrator Certificate issued by the State of Minnesota Secretary of State, Property Tax Calculation Certification, and County Board of Appeal and Equalization Trained Board Member Certification
