2009-2010 Cultural Arts Series recap

This was by far the most ambitious season for the Cultural Arts Series. We had 14 separate events, beginning with the Glenn Miller Orchestra last June. Visting artists included:

+ World famous folk pianist/guitarist/harmonica player George Winston

+ The Steeles, the wonderfully talented family of singer musicians who've become a Twin Cities legend

+ The Acting Company/Guthrie Theater's touring production of 'Romeo and Juliet'

+ Internationally known Celtic band Solas

+ Gypsy jazz guitarist John Jorgenson (Elton John's guitarist for 6 years) and his fabulous Quintet

+ Alaskan bluegrass group Bearfoot, featuring some of the most talented musicians you'll ever hear

+ The high-flying Kenya Safari Acrobats

+ The international collaboration of local actors and a Finnish theatre troupe performing CLC instructor Donna Salli's play 'The Rock Farm' in both

    English and Finnish

+ Chicago's The Cavern Beat, a remarkable Beatles tribute band

+ Timothy Mooney's one-man show 'Moliere Than Thou', based on the writings of the famous French playwright

+ The high-octane energy of the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble
