The Humphrey Center for American Indian Studies is named after Pete Humphrey, whose collection of American Indian cultural materials and literature forms the heart of the Center. The facility is part of the Learning Resource Center in the east wing of the Central Lakes College campus.
The Humphrey Center includes a museum, a research area, video/DVD capabilities, and Central Lakes College's American Indian literature collection. We are also dedicated to providing programming, performers, speakers, and other forums of an educational nature. We hope to use the traditional materials Pete donated to Central Lakes College as a springboard for discussions and presentations about cultural understanding, treaty concerns, economic development, cultural diversity, environmental values, and other issues related to the American Indian life.
