CLC athletes nominated for NJCAA awards

Several Central Lakes College athletes have been nominated for NJCAA individual and team academic awards.

These names/teams have all been submitted to NJCAA for consideration:

• Football: Logan Veo, from Osage, Minn. (3rd Team)
• Volleyball: Baylee Grenier, from Bottineau, ND. (3rd team), Brooke Jerger, from Park Rapids (3rd team), Hannah Peltier, from Dresser, WI (1st Team), Cassandra Smieja, from Pierz (3rd team), Paige Wallevand, from Henning (1st team)
• Women’s Basketball: Samantha Schimpp, from Staples (2nd Team)
• Softball: Brooke Jerger, from Park Rapids (3rd Team), Samantha Schimpp, from Staples (2nd Team)
• Baseball: Alan Pietila, from Mengaha (2nd Team)

1st Team = 4.0 GPA, 2nd Team = 3.80-3.99 GPA, 3rd Team = 3.60-3.79 GPA.

In addition, both Volleyball and Softball teams met the qualifications to be considered for the NJCAA Team Academic Awards. This award is given to teams who have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. Volleyball’s average a 3.49 team GPA. Softball averaged a 3.11 GPA.
