Central Lakes College student Elliot Amick was recently named a 2016 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar.
This scholarship is designed to provide new Phi Theta Kappa members with financial resources to help defray educational expenses while enrolled in a two-year college.
Amick, a Brainerd resident, is a A.A. Degree student at CLC.
“We are excited to have Elliot as a newer (Phi Theta Kappa) member this year. He is driven, hard working, and will greatly contribute to the ambitions we have as a Phi Theta Kappa club,” said Kate Porter, CLC English instructor and PTK club advisor.
The Leaders of Promise Scholarship is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. This Program awards 200 scholars with scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each, totaling $200,000.
This year’s recipients were selected by a panel of independent judges from more than 1,100 applicants. Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars are selected based on outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated leadership potential.
