Kent named CLC’s Interim Dean of Career and Technical Programs and Staples Campus

IMG_3730Rebekah Kent was named Interim Dean of Career and Technical Programs and Staples Campus at Central Lakes College.

In the position, she will supervise all career and technical programs at the CLC Staples campus and Transportation and Manufacturing programs at Brainerd Campus. She’ll develop and implement new academic programs that meet the needs of the community, and work collaboratively with other CLC deans to coordinate the development and implementation of academic programs, student support services, facilities and physical environments that are conducive to teaching and learning.

Kent replaces current Dean of Career and Technical Programs and Staples Campus Chris Hadfield, who is remaining within MnSCU as the new Director of the Transportation Center of Excellence.

Kent also serves as the director of Strategic Grant Initiatives at CLC. She manages a $13.1 million Department of Labor TAACCCT Grant called the Advanced Manufacturing Education Alliance. She is also a licensed attorney and has an MS in Health Services Research, Policy & Administration.

She has been VP of Operations for the nonprofit BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota and a business development executive with Capella University. Prior to her work in the private sector, Kent was a faculty member at Anglia Ruskin University in England. She has a law degree and Master’s in public health from the University of Minnesota.

Kent lives in Brainerd with her husband and three children.
