The Advanced Manufacturing Education (AME) Alliance was awarded the Exemplary Program Award from the Minnesota Council for Continuing Education and Customized Training (MnCCECT).
The award was given at a ceremony Friday at the MnCCECT conference held at Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge.
The AME Alliance was chosen for the honor because of its mediated telepresence courses, which provide credit-bearing courses through the customized training divisions of its schools.
It also provides career paths for those looking to develop skills and earn college credits that stack into longer-term programs of study.
Businesses can also have their employees participate in the program while at their work site, rather than going to campus. That saves time and money for employers.
“I’m thrilled for the AME Alliance to get recognition from our peers regarding the innovative educational model developed by the grant staff and colleges. The success of the AME mediated telepresence model has seen such success with students and business and community partners because of the true collaboration and sharing of resources that have occurred among the AME colleges. We are excited to continue the collaboration and develop new offerings to support the workforce needs of our communities,” said Rebekah Kent, grant director of the AME Alliance.
The AME Alliance is a regional consortium of technical and community colleges, partner employers, workforce and government agencies and community organizations including Central Lakes College, Pine Technical and Community College, St. Cloud Technical and Community College, and the 360º Manufacturing Center of Excellence.
