Photo contest

“Everything under the Sun” is the theme for the 45th annual
photo contest being held at Central Lakes College on the Brainerd campus
beginning April 18, according to contest coordinator Larry Kellerman. The
contest, open to the public, has traditional photo entry categories of
“landscape,” “portrait,” “action,” “creative,” “birds,” “animals,” “flowers,”
and “children.”  And each year there is a
special theme category. “The theme ‘Everything under the Sun’
is unique in that it is open to a photographer’s interpretation,” Kellerman
said. “I think this theme will be wide open to interpretation by our area
photographers.”

Entries much have a print image of at least 5 by 7 inches
and no larger than 11 by 14 inches.  A
photograph can enter one photo in each category, in both in black and white and
color.  The photos must be matted.  Each photo must have the photographers name,
address and phone number on the back of the print.  Entry fee is 50 cents per photo.
            There will
be a number of awards for first, second and third place finishes as well as
overall awards for “Best in Show” in color, black and white, theme, and judge’s
preferences.  Photos will be on display
through April 29 for public viewing.
            Entry
deadline is Monday, April 16 at 9 p.m., with photos registered in the Jon
Hassler Library on the Brainerd campus.
Entries may be sent by mail with
the registration fee to Larry Kellerman, Central Lakes College, 501 West
College Drive, Brainerd, MN 56401.  For information
contact Kellerman at 218-855-8179 or lkellerm@clcmn.edu.
