Choir concert

“Classics, Old and New,” the free Central Lakes College spring choir concert, will be Thursday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Chalberg Theatre on the Brainerd campus. The concert features the music of Martini, Richard Rodgers, Lennon and McCartney, Manhattan Transfer and more, according to Brenda Handel-Johnson, director. Featured are the Cantare’ Concert Chorale, Chamber Singers, Women’s Ensemble, and Fine Arts Festival Ensemble. Soloists include Joe Anderson and Emma Widmark, both of Brainerd; Danica Karli, Winona; and Ryan O’Rourke, North St. Paul. A Brainerd High School String quartet will accompany groups in a performance of “Domine, ad adjuvandum me, Festina” by Fr. G. B. Martini. St Cloud oboist Annaeka Johnson will play with the women’s ensemble in “The World is Full of Poetry””by American composer David L. Brunner.
