The Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association has chosen Pat Held of Motley as recipient of the 2010 Dick Siebert Award named for the legendary University of Minnesota baseball coach. It is given to a coach who has “served Minnesota high school baseball with distinction, professionalism, involvement, and longevity.”Held has been coaching baseball since the early 1970s when he was in college. He is the head baseball coach at Central Lakes College. Held was Staples-Motley High School’s head coach from 1989-96. From 1996-2005 he was a volunteer assistant coach for CLC. In 2004 he returned to S-M to coach varsity and junior varsity teams until 2009 when he was hired by CLC. The award will be presented Oct. 30 at the MSHSBC hall of fame banquet at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Minneapolis.
